3 times better than zirconium
Ceramic grain - the abrasive of the future

Evolution G-AK

An innovative new flap disc with self-sharpening ceramic grain, which guarantees a permanent and extremely high stock removal as well as a long service life. The ceramic grain on this innovative
abrasive cloth is fixed on a robust polyester backing. Fully resinoid bonded with fillers for active grind support guarantees the abrasion resistance of the ceramic grain especially under high pressure.
Outstanding results when grinding on surfaces as well as on edges on mild steel or stainless steel. Due to the high load capacity ideally suitable for extreme grinding applications or special tasks for steel, stainless steel, titanium-base alloy, nickel-based superalloy, chrome-steel and chromium-nickel steel, brass and bronze.

Field of application: Sheet metal working, tank construction, cast iron, pipes and bars, metal constructions. Ideally suitable for steel, stainless steel, titanium-base alloy, nickel-based superalloy, chrome-steel and chromium-nickel steel, brass and bronze.

  • Improved stock removal
  • Increased economic efficiency by noticeable time saving
  • Improved service life
  • Optimum Strength
  • Self-sharpening
  • Cool grinding on surfaces and edges

A new innovative abrasive cloth with self-sharpening ceramic grain (Made in Germany) provides extremely high and constant stock removal during the lifetime of the product.

Test comparison

We determined in a test comparison the stock removal of the new ceramic grain flap disc Evolution G-AK in direct comparison to our top class zirconium flap disc Special G-AZ. Both flap discs were tested in diameter 125x22.23mm, tapered shape, with grit size 40. We used an angle grinder with 1400 watt at 7 ampere power input. Testing material was stainless steel.
The new Evolution G-AK achieved a 300% higher stock removal rate in comparison to the zirconium flap disc G-AZ.
After 70 minutes continuous surface grinding on stainless steel the flap disc with ceramic grain achieved a stock removal of 1707 gram, the zirconium flap disc of 548 gram.
On edge grinding the difference between both types is not so incisive as on surface grinding.

The new innovative abrasive cloth with self-sharpening ceramic grain provides an extremely high and constant stock removal from the beginning up to the total wear of the disc.

When used on high-alloy steel the flap disc with ceramic grain achieved an up to 50% higher stock removal rate and clearly more comfort for the user because of low power consumption.
